Dave East & Styles P Rock a Couple Classics for ‘Funk Flex’ Freestyle

Fresh off dropping one of the hardest albums of the year, Dave East and Styles P have been hitting the promo run with interviews with everyone from Billboard and The Breakfast Club to Genius and Sway in the Morning.

During their time in the Hot97 building, the NY duo linked up with Funk Flex to take part in his ongoing freestyle series. And with Memphis Bleek’s “1,2 Y’all” and Prodigy’s “Keep It Thoro” queued up, they proceeded to bring that Beloved talk to life with an extended clip of bars.

Check out Part 1 below and stay tuned for the sequel.

UPDATE: Less than a week later, Flex has released Part 2 of the session. Feel free to fast forward to the 1:20 mark to skip past the talking and get right to the bars.

After East wrapped up, Flex hopped back on the mic to send a couple shots at Drake (6:10 mark) over the whole beef with Pusha T and the rules of battle rap.

“If you get your feelings hurt, fuck you, it don’t really matter,” Flex barked. “If you don’t write your own shit, you ain’t qualified to give motherfucking rules on the fucking game, you fucking bozo!”

Oh, in more important news, Styles P is also launching a podcast called Close to the Concrete on Thanksgiving weekend. Be sure to keep an ear out for that.
