Like the other artists on Top Dawg Entertainment, Zacari has had go through the development process as well.
Having collaborated with label-mates Isaiah Rashad (“Wats Wrong), Ab-Soul (“RAW (Backwards)“) and Kendrick Lamar (“LOVE“), the Cali crooner has finally stepped out on his own with his debut TDE project, Run Wild Run Free.
“This EP really goes back… I’ve been working on the music for 2 years and some of the lyrics are even from high school,” Zacari says. “This being my first project I wanted my experiences up to this point to be reflected in the music. A lot of the sounds and tones are drawn from my experiences in Alaska. I want the project to feel like a breath of fresh air. After you listen to it I want you to feel like you’re ready to go back into the real world.”
A seven-track release, the EP is led by “Don’t Trip” and “Midas Touch.” Lil Yachty is the lone feature; with production credited to J-Louis (Pardison Fontaine), Aaron Bow, Teddy Walton and others.
