Earlier this year Rick Famuyiwa’s (The Wood, Brown Sugar) critically-recognized, urban coming-of-age dramedy DOPE was the darling of the Sundance Film Festival, which was ultimately scooped up by Open Road Films for SEVEN MILLION DOLLARS. Set in one of my old stomping grounds, Inglewood, the movie will hit theaters on June 19th, and stars an eclectic cast of characters: Blake Anderson (Workaholics), Zoë Kravitz, supermodel Chanel Iman, Forest Whitaker, Rick Fox, and more, as well as musicians A$AP Rocky, Vince Staples, Tyga, and Casey Veggies. The film will also feature four new songs from none other than Pharrell.
