Late last night – somewhere in between the iHeart Radio Awards and the season finale of The Walking Dead – JAY Z took to his rarely-used Twitter account to announce the launch of his newest venture TIDAL, the new music-streaming service which he acquired a few months ago. Today (March 30th), in the only way he knows how, JAY formally announced the launch with a press conference in New York City, with seemingly every one of his musically-inclined friends by his side: Beyoncé, Kanye West, Rihanna, Usher, Calvin Harris, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, J. Cole, Alicia Keys, Daft Punk, Jack White, Deadmau5, Arcade Fire, and Jason Aldean.

Watch a recording of the announcement which went down today, below. (I’ve taken the liberty of starting the video when the actual announcement begins.)
TIDAL will carry a monthly price tag of $9.99 (premium) and $19.99 (HiFi). I have to ask, although already I know how the majority of you will answer: would you buy into JAY’s new product/concept/service?
