The last time I was a fan of Madonna‘s music, Michael “The Real Birdman” Keaton was still portraying Batman in the movies. What used to be a provocative-yet-engaging diva has now turned into, in my humble opinion, a washed-up bag of sand who has to resort to petty controversies and attempting to siphon the life out of Drake at festivals. Suffice to say, I haven’t cared for most of her music up until this point.
Which brings me to why this is here. In an effort to simultaneously appeal to her forever faithful fanbase and to prove to the always-profitable younger generation that she is still relevant, Madge collaborated with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Nas and Chance The Rapper on her thirteenth album Rebel Heart. She dropped her Nicki-guested video via TIDAL, but unlike Nikki and Beyoncé’s “Feeling Myself” nobody took notice (read: cared) so it just dropped via the non-paying streaming mediums. The clip is loaded with a plethora of cameo appearances from the likes of Katy Perry, Rita Ora, Bey, and Young Flatback, and I’ll have to give it up to Madonna: she’s made me dedicate over 200 words to her today. Guess she’s still got it?
Anyways, watch the clip below.
