David Banner and Big K.R.I.T. link up and pay homage to the great UGK on Banner’s latest single, “My Uzi.”
Sampling one of Banner’s old songs featuring UGK (“Suicide Doors”), “My Uzi” features a verse from K.R.I.T. bookended by two aggressive verses by Banner. The song comes to a triumphant close with an orchestra playing behind the chorus, which samples Pimp C shouting, “My uzi weight a ton.” It’s like a fairytale ending to a gangster animated Disney movie.

P.S. I watch The Butler over the weekend, and though David Banner’s appearance was short, he put on a solid performance that was integral to the rest of the plot. Check that out, too.
