On August 30, 2005, Kanye West’s Late Registration dropped. Ten years later, it’s still one of the best albums ribbon-to-ribbon I’ve ever heard. I listen to it every trip I make from Gainesville back to South Florida.

Late Registration is rarely not in someone’s Top 3 in terms of Kanye albums. It still reigns as one of the best releases over the last decade. I could talk your ear off all day, but listen to it, stream it, do whatever you need to do to show your appreciation. Nearly every song is a gem in its own right. What’s your top three songs? Who is your favorite feature? Nas? Jay Z? Lupe? The Game? Paul Wall? GLC? Consequence? Favorite video from the album? Kanye’s getting the Video Vanguard Award from MTV tonight, and videos for songs like “Heard ‘Em Say” are why. Best beat? I’m telling you. All. Damn. Day. Here’s my top three. It was really hard, and they’ll probably change after my next listen through:

“Heard ‘Em Say” (w/ skit)

“We Major”:

“Diamonds From Sierra Leone”

Kanye’s second verse might be his best.
