DJ Starscream – “The Love Inside”

blame it on JES7 September 27, 2015

During the 90s, many a rock/grunge band included a DJ whom was well versed in the art of turntablism – or at the very least, could lay down some basic cuts. Not unlike today’s modern, ummm, dudes who lay claim to the “DJ” title (*cough* DJ Khaled *cough*).

Bands like Incubus, Sublime, Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit employed a gifted DJ. So did metal band Slipknot, who featured the legendary Sid Wilson, aka DJ Starscream. He was authentic as they come – rocking Shure M447 needles and other accoutrements only real DJs knew about.

What some may have not known is that Sid was also an emcee on the side. Usually an obscure fact, Sid never took the art of writing rhymes seriously until recently. Now, Starscream has joined forces with Ras Kass and Shabaam Sahdeeq as IV League – playing DJ to the duo.

Starscream’s “The Love Inside” utilizes a sample of Black Sheep’s “The Choice is Yours” while left to his own devices, and the song will appear on his forthcoming album Sexcapades of the Hopeless Robotic impacting in 2016.
