While building with France’s Hip-Hop 4 Life, the venerable DJ Premier broke news on a few topics that die-hard fans and even casual Hip-Hop heads will most certainly appreciate.

For those wondering if a Gang Starr biopic is in the works, Premo says he’s definitely interested in it, and has been in talks with Guru’s sister, though he says he’d rather wait and take their time putting it together. “I’m not in a rush to do it. We still have a few other things we have to take care of with Guru’s estate.”

When questioned about the potential for a new album, Preme revealed that he’s already started working on it and that it will be “dedicated to the history of D&D studios” – which sadly closed it’s doors earlier this year. The album is titled Last Session At 320 – alluding to its 320 West 37th Street location. Attached to the project is Nas, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Heltah Skeltah, Christina Aguilera, Black Moon, Smif-N-Wessun, Ed Sheeran and more.

Coinciding with the release of the album is a long-overdue documentary on the history of D&D – with contributions from JAY Z and Nas already wrapped up. No release date has been mentioned, but if this doesn’t excite you, well, you have no soul. Literally and figuratively.
