Migos – “Think Twice” (prod. Zaytoven)

I wonder if Migos will ever officially, for lack of a better word with zero pun intended, take off. They’ve been tastemakers for rap world for the better part of five years now from the dances to heading the modern-day trap sound that’s breathed new life into hip-hop on the radio. But they’ve never had a single reach higher than No. 17 on the hip-hop charts and once their debut album finally dropped, it didn’t sell all that well. But meanwhile, the whole world is still dabbing.

Now this new song, “Think Twice,” which has had snippets of it making its way around the Internet for a couple years, isn’t going to be the song that sends them over the top. But between Offset being arrested again (even if it was an accident) and this Zaytoven-laced loosie arriving, it just got me thinking if we’ve seen the peak of mainstream Migos. Now I have no doubt Quavo, Offset and Takeoff will continue setting the tone and popularizing jargon/dances from South and, thus, the rap world, I just wonder how much higher the Migos will climb.

Either way, the three will keep grinding, and that grind continues with “Think Twice,” which you can stream below and download via a new DJ Scream mixtape.
