The Roots Unveil Theme Song For 2016 NBA Finals, “Champion”

The Roots previously, if provisionally, have lent their sound to the 2016 NBA Playoffs soundtracking the Gatorade commercial starring Dwyane Wade and George “The Iceman” Gervin. This time, though, the band now has an official contribution to the games. The group was commissioned by the NBA to create the theme song for its 2016 NBA Finals, and that end result is “Champion.” Having already receiving airtime courtesy of promotional commercials for the Finals, the full song can be heard below.
