With plans to drop a new EP in the next week, Cali rapper J.Lately liberates “Save Yourself” featuring fellow statesman Blu.
The rappers’ mantra of the single is making sure you look out for yourself before trying to put on a cape for anyone else. “I should’ve been a rap star. Mom, I never wanted fame — it was the money,” Blu starts his verse. And while the fame can breed and endless amount of money, Blu wanted the paper to help him escape a troubled situation before going back and trying to save others. You need to make sure your sights are set before you focus on anyone else’s.
“Save Yourself” will land on J.Lately’s The Good Panda EP, set to drop for free next Tuesday.
