Curren$y – “Good Cop, Bad Cop”

Usually one to let his atmosphere do the talking, Curren$y takes the killing of Alton Sterling (and the hundreds of murders of black men at the hands of police), which happened just an hour from his hometown in Baton Rouge, head on with “Good Cop, Bad Cop.”

“Pulling guns out for a traffic stop, what you gon’ do if they come for you,” Spitta ponders over Erykah Badu’s “Other Side Of The Game,” while not really offering a finite solution to the issue — because where do you start?

He notes people trying to protest, because no one wants to start a violent race war. But even when protests are peaceful, people still wind up dead or in jail because of it. Curren$y’s trying to find answers, but he’s just as perplexed and angry as the rest who are fighting for justice and good.
