Rap’s current beef (nah, not that one) has sort of come full circle today, following Drake’s diss to Joe Budden on French Montana’s latest MC4 single, “No Shopping.”

While the beef initially jumped off following the release of Drake’s “4PM In Calabasas,” the real catalyst of all of this seemed to originate from a snippet of “No Shopping” which surfaced on social media back in May.

The snippet featured Drake line “Pump, pump, pump it up” which opens up the song in question. Joey quickly did the math and figured it was directed at him, and proceeded to record three response songs. With his sights solely aimed at the 6 God, Joe clapped back with the dope, but somewhat tepid “Making a Murderer pt.1,” while giving the OVO rapper some time to soak in what happened and time to craft a reply.

With no response in earshot, Joey reached back into his armory and pulled out the coldblooded sequel, “Wake,” which, given the brutal nature of this second diss, you’d think would be the final nail in Aubrey’s coffin.

Alas, here we are today, with Drake diving directly into Budden’s master plan and naming his latest adversary on the Murda Beatz/40-produced “No Shopping.”

Wasting no time, Joey samples Drake’s “The Resistance” on his third diss track, “Afraid.”
