Following a successful run with Kooley High, an alignment with 9th Wonder and Jamla Records, a string of exceptional solo releases and collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Joey Bada$$, Add-2, Talib Kweli, Big K.R.I.T. and more, North Carolina emcee Rapsody has reached yet another peak in her career.

During her Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival set (which you can stream live right here), Rapsody announced that she’s signed a deal with JAY Z’s Roc Nation entertainment company, joining the likes of J. Cole, DJ Khaled, Jay Electronica and Big Sean. As of this writing, there’s no word on whether she’s signed on for a management or artist deal.

While many will be surprised by the recent news, there could have been some foreshadowing leading up to this event when this photo of Jay Electronica gifting Rapsody with his Nation of Gods And Earths chain, given to the New Orleans rapper by JAY Z himself, surfaced. Check out 9th Wonder’s congratulatory announcement on Instagram below.
