Two of the my favorite and most blissful musical moments this year came at hands of — or partially because of — Moses Sumney. He released the studio version of “Everlasting Sigh,” a gorgeous, harmonic tune he’d been performing live for years, and then he took part in the remix of Hundred Waters’ “Show Me Love” with Skrillex and Chance the Rapper.

He’s back today in the solo realm with “Lonely World,” which features calming verses and hums in his falsetto before exploding into a gorgeous instrumental over the last minute-plus of the tune. The song is produced by Gueorgui Linev, Sumney and Joshua Willing Halpern, and the bass is done by Thundercat.

“Lonely World” will land on Sumney’s up coming Lamentations EP out Friday.
