Visitors of the DopeHouse who reside in California will already know of this bill. But for those that do not, continue on below.

California has several interesting bills on the ballot for the November 8th, 2016 election. Aside from Proposition 60, the Condoms in Pornographic Films Initiative (this is actually a thing), perhaps the most controversial act would be Prop 64, the California Marijuana Legalization Initiative.

If approved, it would not only make recreational weed use legal (following Alaska, Oregon, Colorado, Washington and Washington, DC) in the Golden State (as well as up to 29 other states) but it would essentially decriminalize the plant altogether. That would ultimately result in numerous after-effects, from men and women no longer facing incarceration to numerous cultural and familial benefits.

Pusha T — who has been very vocal about supporting and taking political action — is in support of Prop 64, and reveals why in a brief PSA for Rolling Stone. Citing that it would quell mass incarceration rates, although Push is unable to vote in California he encourages those who can to vote for it.
