BJ The Chicago Kid celebrated a couple GRAMMY nominations last week dropping the intimate “Uncle Marvin,” which had a credited feature to Marvin Gaye thanks to the strong presence of a sample of one of his songs.

It turns out, it was the first single from his new mixtape, The Lost Files: Cuffing Season.

The nine-track mixtape was premiered on Saint Heron, who interviewed BJ about his GRAMMY nominations, artists he’d like to work with, the inspiration behind his music and the project.

“[The Lost Files: Cuffing Season] is just attributed to everything I grew up on,” BJ said about the mixtape. “It’s the link, the missing link that I lost on that hard drive that I thank God I found, and I just really hope you guys enjoy it. I just want to say that real music lives forever.”
