Missy Elliott Returns With “I’m Better”

blame it on Shake January 26, 2017

It was this time last year when Missy Elliott released “Pep Rally” and had us all thinking her comeback was actually happening. Then, the rest of the year went by and we got nothing.

Sure, she reunited with Tweet and hopped on songs with A$AP Ferg (“Strive“), Fifth Harmony (“Not That Kinda Girl“) and Fall Out Boy (“Ghostbusters“). But as far as new Missy Elliott material, we we’re left empty handed.

The campaign is back on and Missy returns with her new single, “I’m Better” featuring Lamb (… me neither). Putting her spin on the current wave in hip hop, the legendary artist basically takes a dookie on the trap rappers of today by taking their style and making it better. Flows on top of flows, Missy still getting busy at 45.

What’s a hot Missy song without a matching visual?

“It’s never been about making a hot record. I can do that in my sleep,” Missy says in her upcoming documentary. “But, visually… I have to see what I’m gonna do with that record when I perform it.”
