Gallant exploded in 2016 with his Ology album, with its lead single “Weight In Gold” appearing in commercials and passionate late-night performances. He was also named on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 music list, highlighted as this year’s “callout” —a.k.a. the person they think could have the biggest impact on music this year.
He gets his 2017 campaign started performing a Tiny Desk Concert — most recently done by BADBADNOTGOOD — for NPR. He performed “Bourbon,” which features a guest appearance and verse from Saba, “Skipping Stones” — which normally features Jhené Aiko but this time around was replaced by keyboardist Dani Ivory — and “Weight In Gold.”
