With the amount of rap music being digested hour-by-hour, day-by-day, it’s easy for any Hip-Hop fan to become jaded.

It proves a bit refreshing to be able to step outside of the cipher for awhile to catch your breath while marinating your mind, body and soul in other genres of music, just as much as we do here at the DopeHouse. Although we’re branded as a “Hip-Hop website,” we do occasionally cover other genres, such as Little Dragon, Phantogram, Flume and Hippie Sabotage, just to name a few.

We were recently pitched the sounds of AOE (Ambassadors of Earth), comprised of Phil Beaudreau and GRAMMY-award-winning musician Dawaun Parker, both graduates of Berklee College of Music, the latter who has produced and collaborated with the likes of 50 Cent, Eminem, Busta Rhymes, JAY Z, Kendrick Lamar and Raekwon — just to name a few.

According to Billboard, Phil and Dawaun were raised in the same hometown of Providence, Rhode Island and both artists are alumni of Berklee College of Music‘s 2005 class — never actually meeting until a chance run-in in Los Angeles. And with such an interwoven background, the two teaming up to create music together was destiny, just as life intended.

The Def Jam-signed duo recently released their debut EP Homecoming — a medley of genres including EDM, rap, jazz, R&B and rock braided together beautifully, as proven on the project’s lead single “I’m Right This Time.”

Stream the six-track EP Homecoming below and purchase on iTunes, with AOE “playing Def Jam’s Direct Deposit Live 2017 SXSW Showcase on Thursday, March 16th at 7:00 PM.”
