Stream Sidewalk Chalk’s ‘An Orchid is Born’ Album

blame it on JES7 June 4, 2017

Chicago-based Hip-Hop-funk-jazz assembly Sidewalk Chalk came back strong this year, following an absence which lasted nearly five years, and their remarkable return couldn’t have come at a better time.

With the world seemingly in shambles and an authoritarian dictatorship in place, the six-piece band explores an array of moods most Americans are feeling right now on their new album, An Orchid is Born. The 16-track project is split into three parts — The Hope, The Loss and The Birth — dives into race, religion, politics and spirituality, with singles such as “Dig” and “A Suite For Black Lives.”

Produced by Grammy Award-winning artist Robert “Sput” Searight, An Orchid is Born can be streamed below.
