Apollo Brown & Planet Asia Announce Joint ‘Anchovies’ Album, Share “Dalai Lama Slang”

Apollo Brown and Planet Asia have announced a joint album, Anchovies, that will drop via Mello Music Group on August 25. You can count on a nice, routine waiting period between the announcement of an album and its release with Mello. It follows the duo’s Abrasions: Stitched Up released in 2014.

Along with the announcement, the pair share the project’s first single, “Dalai Lama Slang” with Michigan rapper Willie The Kid. A drumless, soulful record, “Dalai Lama Slang” sees two Planet Asia verses bookending Willie’s 16 — all three encompassing the rappers’ slick, sword-wielding rap skills.

Brown has spent much of the last year promoting his The Easy Truth album with Skyzoo. He’s made albums with the likes of Rapper Big Pooh, Ras Kass and Guilty Simpson, who’s featured on the new project, in the past.
