For a minute, it appeared that many Optimum subscribers weren’t going to get to watch POWER this year.
The cable provider dropped Starz in January amid a contract dispute (read: money). Ultimately the issues were resolved, and people who still choose to watch television the normal, more expensive way have the channel will now get to watch the fifth season of the channel’s most popular series.
Following a brief teaser, the official trailer for the incoming season has been released. Following the tragic events of the fourth season, Ghost now has to deal with longtime ward Dre (portrayed by Rotimi) as his new competitor, leading to aligning with friend-turned-rival Kanan (50 Cent).
POWER returns to television on July 1st. The trailer can be seen below.
