For the last year and a half, the LA Leakers have been inviting artists to the Power106 building to take part in their ongoing freestyle series. Off the top of my head, we’ve seen quality performances from the likes of CyHi the Prynce, Audio Push, Boogie, Cozz, Nick Grant, YBN Cordae, Tyga (yes, that Tyga), and several others.
Next up: Mickey Factz.
Going down before Young M.A’s impressive take on a Biggie classic and King Combs’ attempt at his dad Diddy’s “Victory” beat, Factz came through and scorched the microphone with an exclusive set of bars over the DJ Premier-laced remix of Showbiz and A.G.’s “Next Level.”
Add this to his knowledge-filled performance on Funk Flex back in April and it’s safe to say Mickey Factz is responsible for two of the best freestyles of the year.
Check out the LA Leakers freestyle below and keep scrolling for Mickey’s I Said Yo project, which we sadly overlooked in July.
“For my Birthday, I wanted to share my life. My spiritual side. My lyrical side. My alcoholism. My views on race. Society. My position in Hip Hop and lastly the love of my life,” Mickey says. “That is my gift.”
