After kicking off the year with his Rap Or Go To The League album, 2 Chainz has spent the last few months in label mode. And today, the veteran rapper has announced a partnership between Atlanta Records and his The Real University (T.R.U.) imprint.
“I’m excited on the new venture building from the ground up, my biggest goal is to play a part in changing someone’s life and make them a millionaire,” Chainz told Billboard. “I treat the record label as school with various levels. That’s why we refer to it as ‘The Real University.’ It’s a course you go through.”
To help celebrate the news, 2 Chainz has released “Shoot It Out,” the first taste of an upcoming compilation featuring members from his Atlanta-based roster: WORL, Hott LockedN, and Sleepy Rose.
“It adjusts the mood on your face,” 2 Chainz says. “It’s got the grit and the Atlanta sound I like to talk about. It’s a heavy one with a lot of power.”
