It’s been a few years since fans have gotten new music from The Roots. That certainly mean that they’ve not been working, however: in between holding it down on Jimmy Fallon’s eponymous late-night show, they’ve been working on the official follow-up to their 2014 album …And Then You Shoot Your Cousin, tentatively titled End Game. They also recently commemorate the 20-year anniversary of their breakout album, Things Fall Apart, and Questlove is hard at work on a Black Woodstock documentary.
Good news, everyone (*says in Hubert J. Fansworth voice*): The Roots have dropped a new single since 2017, “Feel It (You Got It),” with Tish Hyman. And yes, the band has not lost a step at all. A triumphant return, listen to it below.
