A little over two weeks remain until Thundercat delivers his new album, It Is What It Is. With two singles – “Black Qualls” and “Dragonball Durag” – out for our enjoyment, he returns with a third one in “Fair Chance.”
Thundercat reflects the loss of his close friend, that being the late Mac Miller, with help from Ty Dolla $ign and Lil B while realizing that as more fame comes his way, the relationships in his life will change.
Speaking on the song and its connection to Mac, Thundercat said, “When he passed it shook the ground for the artist community… Ty’s a strong dude and when he heard the song he knew exactly what it should be. I was there when he recorded it. We talked about what it was, and he did what he felt was right to it, and I love what he did.”
