Playboi Carti Finally Releases ‘Whole Lotta Red’ Album

blame it on Meka December 25, 2020

Two years ago Playboi Carti released (what he called was) his debut album, Die Lit, which followed his breakout self-titled mixtape in 2017. Then, like his presence on social media, he went scarce save for sporadic guest features on songs by Solange, Chief Keef, and others.

However, he’s been teasing his Die Lit follow-up, Whole Lotta Red, for over a year, leading another rapper — who, like his fans, was so adamant about him releasing it — that he released his own project dubbed Whole Lotta Red. Fortunately, for those who wanted the real deal, Carti has finally dropped his highly-anticipated re-up.

A 24-track project (suffice to say, this is a double album), the project is led by the single “Meh.” Meanwhile, the likes of Future, Kanye West, and Kid Cudi appear throughout. Carti has also dropped a video for the Cudi collaboration, “M3tamorphosis,” to accompany the album.
