Since his last album, KOD, in 2018, rumors have persisted regarding the next projects from J. Cole: The Fall Off and The Off Season. The latter, which would precede the former, is supposed to be a continuation of his basketball-themed mixtapes The Come Up (in 2007), The Warm Up (in 2009), and Friday Night Lights (in 2010). In the meantime, Cole would release the Grammy-nominated Revenge Of The Dreamers III project.
After setting off The Fall Off with his Lewis Street mini-EP, Cole has revealed that its precursor now has a release date: May 14.
Just know this was years in the making.

No word on what the first single will be, or if his Kill Edward persona — debuting on KOD — will make an appearance. But it’s safe to say that he may likely stick with his “no features” mantra once again. Guess we’ll all find out in the coming days.
