It’s been five years since Bas released an album. And while the Dreamville rapper has kept fans fed with a couple EPs (2019’s Spilled Milk and last year’s [Bump] Pick Me Up) and multiple appearance on Dreamville’s Revenge of the Dreamers III album, the Creed III soundtrack, and D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape, he’s finally back with album number four: We Only Talk About Real Sh*t When We’re F*cked Up.

Bas’ first full-length release since 2018’s Milky Way, the introspective album’s title is meant to spotlight two sides of the same coin. While one side highlights the social phenomenon of not being able to discuss sensitive topics without substances (“Ho Chi Minh“), the other side reflects on society’s apathy to difficult scenarios or situations until they reach dire straits (“Khartoum,” “Decent”).

“A New World. A Labor of Love. It’s Yours. Take Good Care of It.

Checking in at 17 tracks, including “Passport Bros” with J. Cole, the album comes equipped with another Cole appearance (“Home Alone”) and features from A$AP Ferg, Adekunle Gold, Amaarae, AJ Tracey, FKJ, and Sha Sha.
