New York playground legend Lenny Cooke’s self-titled docu-film from directors Benny Safdie and Joshua Safdie debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival and it’s a look into the life of the former top high school prospect who was basketball’s “next big thing” over a decade ago. His name however unfortunately never got called at the 2002 NBA draft in an attempt to make the leap from high school to the pros. Shouts to the homie Matthew “Boi-1da” Samuels who provided the score for the film.
