I’ve actually been waiting on this episode ever since I saw the trailer back in the summer. Nas’ segment on the show recently aired, where he – with some help from Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr – traced his familial origins back to the 1800s, where it was discovered that his great, great, great grandmother Pocahantas Little was purchased by slave owner Benjamin Franklin Little. It’s really a moving if not a bit unsettling scene, as Nas would then see and react to a picture of the person who enslaved his family.
