Little Simz is no stranger at the DopeHouse. Since her arrival in 2013, the North London-reared artist has cranked out a series of well-received AGE 101 EPs. Now, she’s unveiled her formal introduction, A Curious Tale Of Trials + Persons, which serves as her actual debut album. The conceptual 10-track LP focuses on the subject of fame and it’s effects, an explores the adversity an independent female artist faces in a male-dominated genre.

A Curious Tale is also accompanied by a short film, The True Story. Directed by Jeremy Cole, the clip follows Simz throughout her musical journey as she “explores her position as an independent artist taking on the world and music industry expectations, while she battles with impending fame and possibly an even bigger foe: herself, her demons and what she may or may not become in the future.” Watch that below.
