After spending the last decade producing for the likes of A$AP Rocky, ScHoolboy Q, Chance the Rapper, Wale, and countless others, NEZ – of Chicago-based production duo Nez & Rio – is making the transition into full-time artist.
Influenced by his hometown’s house music sound that he came up on in the 80s, NEZ has released his debut solo project Midnight Music. “Midnight Music is a complete mood. It’s what I want to hear when I’m outside,” NEZ says about the project. “It’s feel-good music and explores different sounds within the scope of dance music. It’s sexy, it’s dark, it’s melodic and upbeat all at the same time.”
A three-song drop, the project is led by “To The Money” featuring Flo Milli & 8ae. Oddly , though, his ScHoolboy Q-assisted banger “Wild Youngster” is not on the project. Either way, Midnight Music can be streamed below.
