It’s officially Spring, and there is still no sign of Ye Ali‘s Private Suite project? What gives? “LNF” was a smooth groove, as was “Ring 4X” and “Cashin’ Out.” In his defense, however, Ali has been working on his craft for the better part of three years, so the TrapHouse Jodeci may drop the project on a whim as he has its singles.
Case in point: this new release, “Serious.” Originally planning to reveal “Theme Song,” Ali pulled an audible and drops this bounce-laden track instead. Putting the falsetto to the left, Ali kicks some raps instead like he’s diversifying his bonds Wu-Tang Financial-style.
At this point the only person who knows when Private Suite is released is Ali, and he’s totally fine with that right now.
UPDATE: And just like that, “Theme Song” with Portland emcee/singer Cassow has been released as well.
