Post Malone stopped by BBC Radio 1’s studios Thursday, and during the live performance the artist usually goes through during their stop, the crooner/rapper from Texas covered Kanye West’s “Heartless.”
Post performs a stripped-down version of the tune, one that would sound familiar if you search “kanye west heartless cover” on YouTube. When the hook rolls around, there is a wavering sound in Post’s voice, and there’s hints that dude can actually kind of sing while the verses sound just as good as if you or I would sing — and that’s more of a nod the simplicity of the vocal range Kanye uses in the song — though Post sings it with a decent deal of emotion.
This is going to get mixed reviews, but I don’t mind it. I’m not running it back immediately, but it’s a nice ode to the man who is set to launch his career to bigger platforms (with “Fade“). Listen to the cover below.
