Prepping one of the many musical drops on December 25th, Busta Rhymes is determined to make his mixtape The Abstract Went On Vacation the best aural stocking stuffer of them all. And, judging from the tracklist he revealed on his Instagram page, he could possibly take the Rap Krampus crown.
Having already previewed snippets of several songs from the project on his social media page, Busta has disclosed that his mixtape will feature a wide array of guest contributions: Chance The Rapper, Mary J Blige, Wiz Khalifa, Pharrell, Black Milk, J Dilla, Roc Marciano, Raekwon, MF DOOM, Rick Ross, and a host of others. Track 15 even features a full-fledged Leaders Of The New School reunion.
Judging by the tracklist, Busta Rhymes is appearing to bridge the gap between the mainstream and the independent/underground like he did with proficiency in his classic albums 1996’s The Coming and 1997’s When Disaster Strikes. Hopefully that will ring true in 2015 as well.
