A couple weeks ago, Mass Appeal finally unveiled the new posthumous J Dilla album, The Diary. “The Sickness,” a track featuring Nas and a beat from Madlib, was featured as a bonus cut, but it was no doubt one of the standouts associated with the project. Though it technically wasn’t a collaboration from back in the day and unearthed as a gem for the project (Nas recorded his verse this year), it’s always legendary when you see Dilla, Nas and Madlib in one space.
“The Sickness” now has a video, which has some old footage and images of Dilla rocking along and rapping to grimy 8-bit production before Nas arrive to match Dilla’s energy.
