Not only are Run the Jewels overtly open about their feelings of the current state of hip-hop, the country and more while on wax, El-P and Killer Mike are also just as open about the process of making music. Where some artists will keep silent and keep their music under wraps until the finished product is ready to go, Run the Jewels have done the opposite, especially in the recording process for Run the Jewels 3.
Over the past year, the duo have shared snippets of new music on multiple occasions, and they even stopped by Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show to talk about the upcoming project. During the interview, they revealed their hope is to have to project out by the end of the year. The host also said, from what he’s heard, the beats El-P is making for RTJ3 are the best he’s ever heard from the producer.
Tuesday night, El-P re-assured fans once again that, yes, the duo is working on their next project, and it’s getting to the point you can tell they just want to release all their music to the world. And, naturally, the snippet he shared sounds like a banger, highlighted by El-P’s closing line, “I got a unicorn horn for a cock.” Check it out via Instagram below.
