Aminé’s “Caroline” Has Quickly Become My Summertime Favorite

I don’t know too much about Aminé, outside of what I have seen on his personal website. He was born in 1994, he hails from Portland, OR, and his name is pronounced “Uh-Mean-Aye.” However, a friend put me on his single “Caroline” recently, and I cannot stop playing it a couple times a day.

And, yes, it is easy to mispronounce his name as “anime” sometimes.

There’s a definite André 3000 influence in the song, and he has even acknowledged it. However, the quirky jam — produced by both Aminé and Pasqué — has such a catchy and light-hearted bounce to it that it has the potential to be on many cookout soundtracks throughout the summer.

And I can’t stop saying “She’s a bad thang, fine as hell, thick as f**k” randomly now.

In late 2015 Aminé dropped a project, Calling Brio, with contributions from Kaytranada, Pasqué, and more. Stream that below.
