It’s been five months since Allen Poe reached out to Denmark Vessey for a collaboration, with the result being the massive burner “Memory,” and I still find myself revisiting it from time to time.
Earlier this month, the Kentucky emcee decided to one-up things, announcing the upcoming release of a new joint album with Nigerian producer Teck-Zilla, dubbed Lightbulb Over My Head While I’m Thinking. The announcement came with the release of its first single, aptly titled “Incandescent” and also featured Queens rapper Hannibal King.
You can now stream (and purchase) the 7-track EP, which Allen describes as “a vintage look at life (be it general or personal) through sepia tone, laid back soundscapes. Also somewhat fun and lackadaisical in terms of overall vibe” below.
