Run The Jewels – “2100” f. Boots

Before their world tour kicks off on Friday, Killer Mike and El-P have decided to release a new Run The Jewels song featuring Boots.

Recorded a few months ago, “2100” was released early in direct response to the unsettling outcome of the presidential election.

“For our friends. For our family. For everyone who is hurting or scared right now. Here is a song we wrote months ago. We weren’t planning on releasing it yet but… well it feels right, now. It’s about fear and it’s about love and it’s about wanting more for all of us.”

Mike opens up with an honest and heartbreaking inquiry — How long before the hate that we hold lead us to another Holocaust? — before trading rhymes with El Producto about the current state of affairs and how we’re going to survive in a Trump-led country.

Co-produced by Little Shalimar and Wilder Zoby, “2100” can be heard below. Check it out and be on the lookout for RTJ3.
