In 2016, New Orleans talent Dee-1 released his surprise mixtape Slingshot David. A little over a year later, the DopeHouse mainstay returns with his long-in-the-works debut album, Slingshot David.
“What’s a slingshot?” Dee gets asked in the project’s opening skit. A concept project, David is a chronicling of Dee’s life, from wanting to be a Hot Boy like the legendary Cash Money group to dealing with his morality and faith. The likes of Avery Storm, Sevyn Streeter, Kango Slim and others make appearances throughout the album.
