Dreamville is crushing it. In the last year and change, the house that J. Cole built has introduced fans to new artists and released a bevy of quality projects—including EarthGang’s trilogy of EPs, Lute’s West 1996 pt.2, J.I.D’s The Never Story, Cozz’s Effected, and Cole’s KOD album.
Now, with EarthGang’s MirrorLand, J.I.D’s DiCaprio 2 and Ari Lennox’s anticipated full-length on the horizon, it looks like Bas is next up with the long-awaited follow-up to Too High to Riot hopefully arriving in the near future.
Directed by Andrew Nisinson, the video offers fans an idea of what to expect with his next project.
“There are themes and messaging throughout this video that apply to my whole album,” Bas says. “Journeys I had to undertake the past two+ years since Too High To Riot. Starting with this visual and subsequent ones, as well as the album, I hope to convey the lessons learned and my growth as a man. Once all the pieces are on the board, I’d love to discuss it all with you. I put my real life into my albums. I don’t know any other way to do it.”
