Flying Lotus Returns with Sixth Album, ‘Flamagra’

It’s been nearly five years since Flying Lotus released his last album (2014’s You’re Dead), but the multi-talented musician is officially back in action with his sixth studio release, Flamagra.

“This album has been a refuge for pain and trying to make the most out of that pain,” FlyLo says. “Music can heal and in the wake of that tragedy it reminded me what I’m here to do. As we get older, we start to figure out what our purpose is and embrace it and I want to do good things with my work. I want it to be able to help people through tough times and inspire them to be creative.”

A massive, 27(!)-track release, Flamagra is stacked with guests: Anderson .Paak (“More“), Little Dragon (“Spontaneous“), George Clinton, Solange, Tierra Whack, Thundercat, Toro y Moi, Denzel Curry (“Black Balloons Reprise“), and Shabazz Palaces. In short, there’s something for everybody on it.
