I think we all remember, to some extent at least, the messy fallout Tyga had with Young Money as well as two of his prominent labelmates, Nicki Minaj and Drake. After a bit of clashing and subbing, Tyga and the label would eventually sever ties and move on without each other.
During that clash, however, Tyga mentioned that his signing with the label was for more reasons Lil Wayne than anyone else. So it didn’t come with much surprise thta his seventh LP, Legendary, featured a track titled “Lightskin Lil Wayne.” Just a month removed from the album’s released, Tyga drops off a video for the track.
Dubbed a “Tribute to the GOAT,” Tyga takes on the role of Wayne himself, mimicking key points his career including his Hot Boyz days to the more recent days of Tha Carter V.
