Jay Electronica: “Album Done”

blame it on Meka February 7, 2020

EAUX REALLY?

So for, like, ever, many of us have been wondering just what the hell is going on with Jay Electronica. Despite signing to Roc Nation way back in 2010, the only things to come from that union – outside of, what… “Shiny Suit Theory,” “Exhibit C” and “The Announcement” – have been a bunch of random features, random loosies, and casual mentions about his all-extra-long-in-the-works debut project.

So, of course in the midst of the weekly bludgeoning of new music releases, Jay Elect would take to Twitter to say the following: “Album done.”

He would then go on to say that the project was completed in “40 days and 40 nights,” and will feature his Roc Nation boss Jay-Z. While it sounds like another “we’ll believe it when we see it” moment, the likes of Young Guru and Just Blaze retweeted him (this is important, as both have worked extensively with Jay throughout his career) with comments of their own.

Oh, and then Jigga jumped on his own rarely-used Twitter account to “like” every tweet from Jay. They’re the only posts he has flagged at the moment.

So, if were using Jay’s “releasing in 40 days” tweet, the album is finally slated to released on Tuesday, March 17th (Saint Patrick’s Day).

Again, we’ll see.
