After releasing his long-awaited debut album, Truth Be Told, in early 2019, C.S. Armstrong has spent the last year releasing loosies, a powerful video for “Black Woman,” and featuring on a few records.
Now, in the midst of a worldwide pandemic/fight for social justice, the Houston-bred crooner is back with his mix of soul, blues and hip-hop on the release of his latest project, The Blue Tape.
Produced by Shungu, the collection of music can be heard below.
On top of the project, C.S. Armstrong also recently released a cover of Nina Simone’s classic “Strange Fruit.” “My cover of ‘Strange Fruit’ comes during strange times but I hope you feel the healing in this,” he says.
