Lil Wayne Releases ‘Free Weezy’ On Streaming Platforms, Drops “Glory” Video

In 2015, Lil Wayne had a bit of conundrum on his hands.

His then-anticipated album, Tha Carter V, was in limbo. He was dealing with prolonged legal and label issues he had with Birdman. He had even filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against both Birdman and the only record label he’d known throughout his entire career at that point, Cash Money Records.

So, Wayne decided to focus on the one thing that brought him solace — music — which resulted in both the Sorry 4 The Wait 2 mixtape and the Free Weezy Album. Now, freed from his contractual obligations to the Bird, the Weez has released the latter project across all of the digital streaming platforms.

Wayne has also released a video for the track “Glory” as well. Directed by Eif Rivera, both the album and video can be heard below.
